James qualified as a physiotherapist in 2015 from UWE (University West of England). After qualifying he worked at the North Bristol NHS Trust for 5 years, and then moved to the RUH where he continues to practice. Since qualifying he has completed additional training in manual therapy and a number of courses from the British Association of Hand Therapists.
Currently, James leads the Hand Therapy team at the RUH (Royal United Hospital) as a Senior Specialist Hand Physiotherapist as well as working alongside the consultant orthopaedic hand surgeons to ensure the patient care is as effective as possible, with the best outcomes acheived. He prides himself in taking a holistic view of the patient, with not only treating the immediate symptoms, but also activity modification, stress management and relaxation. As well as this, James works at The Hand to Elbow Clinic providing Hand Therapy to our private patients.
He is planning to further his skills in the future with an injection therapy course, and by completing a Masters in Leadership.
Outside of work, James is married with two daughters. He regularly travels in the UK to see family and friends, and also abroad to seek some sun! He has a keen interest in all sports, having played team sports all of his life and is a season ticket holder at Bath Rugby. He also enjoys exercise and is currently renovating his third property.
